Warriors Collide was the only time that I had been to a fight with a person on the card that I knew. Garrett the Spartan Dugger had the only fight that get the whole crowed on their feet when he lifted his opponent above his head and slammed him to the ground. He then proceeded to pummel Jaye Inocelda until the referee decided that he had enough and stopped the fight.

By first glance the Placerville auditorium seemed better suited for a 4-H farm animal competition than a No Holds Barred Mixed Martial Arts Cage Fight. Getting into the building took some time, as there seemed to be a line for days. It was very much a family event for the folks at Rebel Fighter® with grandmas, uncles and aunts working the door and the rest of the family selling t-shirts and food. $2 for a cup of water and ice! WHAT!

Seating was on a first come first serve bases and because there was no raised setting we were pretty much stuck watching the persons head in front of us bob and weave while attempting to get a better view. There is also no standing allowed during the fights, which make the grappling on the ground almost impossible to see.

The fights where scheduled to start at 7:00pm but didn't get started till 7:45pm making everyone around start getting a little antsy. I didn't really mind the late start as it gave me time to people watch. There where some interesting characters at this event. It's probably a good thing that they did not serve alcohol and that the chairs had all been strapped down as many of these characters looked ready to be part of the action instead of just wanting to watching it.

Many in the crowed all seemed to be there to support one of the many hometown favorites. There where fighters from Placerville's Team Hangtown and from Marysville. One fighter hailed from Phoenix AZ. But most all fighters where local.

If anyone remembers or could see what happend in some of these other fights please send in the blow by blow and I will add your information in. info@placerville.com

Fight #1 - Tommy "The Technician" Cowan vs. Pasquale "The Italian Ace of Spades" Sprague Winner by TapOut 2nd round (1:35) - Tommy "The Technician" Cowan (1-0)

This was a great fight as Tommy the Technician Cowan was a surprise victory to those in my group. Tommy looks much like a Best Buy, Geek Squad worker that has decided to join a fight club. "First rule of fight club don't talk about fight club" It ended up on the mats so there was no way for us to see the end but his opponent ended up tapping out.
